from 9:00 a.m. to Noon
on Saturdays this summer!
June 13 – Learn all about planting and harvesting vegetables with the Clinton County Master Gardeners/Clinton County Extension. We will also make flower print bookmarks. Location: Bickelhaupt Arboretum.
June 27 – Tour LyondellBasell to see how plastic is made, check out the lab, view the plant’s emergency vehicles, and enjoy a pizza lunch.
July 18 – Find out what happens to all the trash that you throw away as we tour the Clinton County Solid Waste Agency. Learn about the life cycle of a landfill and how recycling does not end at the curb.
July 18 – Enjoy a baseball game with the Clinton LumberKings on “Going Green” night
Evening at the ballpark. Check-in is at 6:00 p.m. Enviro Kids Recognition Night.
Aug. 1 – Fun on the pond at the Ikes—fishing, canoeing, hayride, and prairie study. Lunch will be furnished.
Aug. 15 – Explore the Mississippi River on the Blue Heron Eco Cruise Pontoon Boat at Rock Creek Marina. Also search for fresh water mussels with the Clinton County Conservation Naturalist, and learn about the Global Positioning System (GPS) with the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
Aug. 29 – Discover the world of butterflies and tag your own butterfly at the Bickelhaupt Arboretum.
Sept. 12 – Explore the Soaring Eagles Nature Center (the Nature Barn) at Eagle Point with the Clinton County Conservation Naturalist, and learn how to make homemade root beer and ice cream.
